Exhibition space: Final

This is how my final outcome looks within my exhibition space, I have also placed a speaker which will play my soundtrack for the introduction of the Palace and the performers who've performed within the building during the past. I have also added my portfolio on a stand showing work which I have produced during this year and last year.

Photoshop experiments which will form the base of the final outcome: recreating bricks and showing deterioration.

These are all experiments using the photos I have taken showing the state of the Palace Theatre and different surface deterioration I will recreate a wall that shows layers and this is to express the decaying building in more depth, these photos will form the base of the bricks.

More experimental pieces linking towards my final outcome

This experimental piece has been created using a thick layer of wall paint in the colour Silk and I've basically added salt on top of the layer and mixed it together to form a crumbling effect towards the paint, I then washed it over with black watercolour paint and left it to dry naturally.

For this piece I added tissue paper which has been dipped within pale blue wall paint to recreate a peeling effect I also added both dark brown and black washes of watercolour paints to give this piece more of an aged and decayed effect which would adapt well towards half of the final outcome.

This piece has two layers of mixed paint, the first being wall paint and acrylic which was silk and brown I then added dark grey acrylic for the top layer and whilst it was drying I scrapped away some of the second layer to reveal the first layer using the sharp edge of a kitchen knife. I added a wash of black watercolour for added detail and to make the scratch marking seem more in-depth.

The font of Palace

I've recreated the word 'Palace' using one of the experimental pieces that I have created.  I've added layers of mod-rock to form the letters and this is the result.

Two types of brick textures

These are brick designs which have been created with different materials. The first being both acrylics and washes of watercolour paints with added dark grey grit and acrylic to recreate the texture of cement, the second texture was created with both wall paint and watercolours with added tissue paper to give the bricks more of a worn down expression. I've also added grit and acrylics both within some of the bricks and for around the bricks.

Varies surface experiments

The medium I have used for this textual piece is gold metallic acrylic paint which was the first layer, the second and third layer consists of tissue paper which had been soaked in three different wall paints white, beige and silk.

This textual piece was created as a single layered piece having tea bag stains combined with dripped on wall paint of the colour silk. This creates an experiment which looks like the paint is aged and slowly decaying.

This textual piece is my own version of how I see the bricks within the primary photo I had taken of the side wall of the Palace Theatre, using two mediums Roasted red wall paint and washed down watercolours to make it seem that the bricks have been worn down during many years of the building slowly deteriorating away.

This textual piece has got two layers within the first layer being stained coffee whilst the second is wall paint ( pale blue)  this experimental piece is looking into how paint decay causing cracks to appear and slowly the paint itself peels off.

This textual piece consists of four layers all created with wall paints ( which is much thicker than acrylics, it even links towards my final outcome being as it's a macro textual piece of a side view of a wall on the Palace Theatre) here I was testing out how layers of paint can have an effect especially when it starts to decay.

These are textual pieces which have been created to show the deterioration of the Palace Theatre. Each textual piece has arrange of materials and medium which has recreated the effects of decay on surfaces such as walls.

Stencil experiments using different media and materials.

These are all experimental stencil pieces, using the front view of the Palace Theatre. The paint was applied using a stippling technique which also creates texture that links towards decay. Added detail was made by inks, which focus on the deterioration of the building.
