Experimental pieces using image transfer paper.

Experimental pieces which were mistakes, these are Photoshop images which have been transferred on to Freezer paper in which should have been applied on top of fabrics. But due to the temperature being to low on the presser ( which applies heat on to the paper in order to print the image on to the fabric) this was the ending result. Even though it was a failure to begin with I realised that it links well towards the theme, expressing the current state of the building itself, lowly crumbling away.  

Photograms combined with primary close up photos of decayed surfaces.

Firstly I had scanned in the photo-grams onto Photoshop and basically applied primary photos ( which have been taken based on my first idea of focusing on decay in surfaces) and creatively merged the images together using different effects such as Invert ( which basically negatives and positives images) and also arrange of 'Blending' techniques. These are to describe the building, how it has changed since it was firstly abandoned and the destructive state it is currently in. 

Photograms of my primary photos I have taken from the Palace Theatre.

These are photo-grams produced my photos which I have taken on the Palace Theatre. Printed the photos in grey scale on top of acetate and traditionally applied the photos on top of photographic paper using the Dark room and used different ways to apply the Developer ( which makes the image visually on the photographic paper) using two main equipment a sponge and a flat brush to make the photo-grams more linking towards my theme and to add a bit of detail to the corners. 

Sewing experiments of different parts of the Palace theatre in Swansea.

Experimental pieces using free machine embroidery ( sewing machine technique) Firstly I traced out the images which I have taken of the Palace theatre in different angles and close ups. I then added arrange of medium which are applied on to varies materials. This would show the texture and colour of mainly decay which would link towards the derelict building. I had also applied the free machine towards a Photoshop image showing a side view of the building with a close up primary photo of rust.  

Designs for garment I made using bleached and burnt fabrics.

Using sketches of how the garment should look, I basically chose one and started to construct the piece using a small mannequin I applied the pieces of burnt and bleached materials using pins and once the piece was all together I loosely hand sewed them all together using a brown embroidery thread. This was my first idea of looking at how decayed the surfaces were, the colours they produce and the textures it creates.

These are all the Photoshop images which I have produced from the beginning of my Final Major Project, showing different locations which have been effected by both decay and deterioration. These are combined primary photos showing varies surface decay and both objects and buildings expressing the state they are currently in. 

More primary photos linking towards my theme

These are from pages of my sketchbook, showing the range of primary images which I taken to apply towards my first idea of looking into natural disasters and surfaces being decayed. These photos have been used to produce both Photoshop experiments and Fine Art techniques which link well towards the theme I was looking into at the start of my project and I have been currently applying towards my final idea of " Save the Palace" which involved looking at the appalling state of the building.
